Jenny Lou

Assistant to the District Manager

Jenny Lou Faber is the Assistant to the District Manager of the Greater Toledo Recreation District. She started competitively swimming at the age of 7 at the YMCA in Rockford, IL where she was born. After moving to Las Vegas when she was 11, she swam for the Las Vegas Sandpipers. Her senior year of high school she decided to swim for Desert Storm swim team also in Las Vegas. She has been working in aquatics since 2003 starting the YMCA in Las Vegas, NV as a lifeguard and swim instructor. Since then, she has worked for the City of Sparks (NV) aquatic department, Walt Disney World Resorts as a lifeguard at the Yacht & Beach Clubs and Blizzard Beach Water Park, SwimWest Swim School in Madison, WI, and the Lincoln City Recreation Center. Jenny Lou will be enthusiastically bringing her many years of accumulated knowledge of all aspects of recreational aquatics to this wonderful community.

Toshio Toguchi

Hi! My name is Toshio I was born and raised in Hawaii. I have been a lifeguard/swim instructor for 6 years and counting. I also have about 16 years of competitive swimming experience. Some of my top swimming achievements include: qualifying for the 2018 SC Washington State Championships, 2 time 200 Fly finalist at OSI SC Arena Regionals, 1 time 200 Fly finalist at OSI LC State Championships, and swam on all 3 of our winning relay teams at the Oregon High School State Championships. Some of my hobbies include fishing, gyotaku, playing Pokémon Go, and working with animals and bugs.

Kai Buchanan

My name is Kai, I have lived my whole life in Lincoln County, I love to hike, rock climb, scuba dive, and explore our beautiful state. I’ve worked at the Greater Toledo Pool for over a year now, and I’ve grown to love all of my friends and coworkers here in Toledo. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me!

Kathleen Harrington

Lifeguard/Swim Instructor

Hi! My name is Kathleen Harrington. I am a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor. I have been a recreational and competitive swimmer my entire life and currently compete in Masters Swimming. I enjoy teaching swimming skills to children to ensure a fun and safe experience in the water. When I’m not teaching at the pool, you’ll find me teaching at Eddyville Charter School.

Margaret Iverson

Lifeguard/Instructor

I started my working life in aquatics from 1973- 1990. I lifeguarded taught and coached swimming. Then after the birth of my son, I bought and sold antiques and books for 27 years. Then in 2019 I was recruited to teach swimming lesson for the City of Morro Bay, California. I left there in 2021 and wanted to continue to teach so I started working for the Greater Toledo Pool, I’m bookending my life with Aquatics?

Cache Jones

Lifeguard

My name is Cache, I am a Lifeguard at the Greater Toledo Pool. I have been swimming for my whole life. It has been one of my favorite things to do. I also competitively swam for 7 years. In my free time I enjoy making artwork, snorkeling and going on bike rides. I am able to solve a rubix cube in less then 40 seconds. Lifeguarding is one of the funnest things that I have ever done. I am so glad that I have the opportunity to work at such a great pool, with amazing people.

My name is Rider and I started swimming competitively at the Newport pool, where I learned the fundamentals of being a swimmer. Now I work and swim at the Toledo pool. I enjoy tons of outdoor activities, especially biking. It’s a pleasure joining such an amazing team. I’ve had a great time working here and can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Hi my name is Ryan, I started working at the pool shortly after we re-opened from our COVID closure in May 2020. But after re-opening in 2021 I’ve been very eager to get people swimming! And love the community Toledo provides!
